Guardians on a United Front Regarding Gunn’s Firing

It’s often said that when actors and actresses work together for long amounts of time, that they become family to one another. There’s no better example of this than the letter of support of James Gunn that the cast of The Guardians of The Galaxy put out today. Signed by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillian, Michael Rooker, and James’ brother, Sean Gunn, the letter was posted by most of the cast’s social media pages with a message of support to Gunn.

Gunn was instantly terminated by Disney after inappropriate tweets from 2012 resurfaced last week. Since then, Gunn has apologized again, and put out his own letter of apologies to the fans and cast. However, fans still want to see Gunn back in the saddle for Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3, enough that over 300,000 have signed a petition for Disney to re-hire Gunn. Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer) has been particularly outspoken about Gunn’s firing, defending Gunn daily on social media. But today, it was all of the Guardians coming together to defend the guy who made them the Guardians.

Neither Kevin Feige (Marvel CEO) or Bob Iger (Disney CEO) have commented on the firing.

With Disney’s acquisition of the Fantastic Four and X-Men, is it safe to say that Guardians 3 may not happen after all? What do you think? Do you want to see James Gunn finish Guardians 3, or should someone like Taika Waititi take over the film? Let us know below in the comments!
