We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in home entertainment week in and week out. For the week of August 15th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get the full rundown of what you should have on your wishlist, plus take a chance to check out what Michael and I are spotlighting on The Video Attic this week.
This weeks finds the arrival of one of the biggest releases of the year as Universal welcomes the dino-sized sequel Jurassic World: Dominion to 4K UHD Blu-Ray. This release comes with Dolby Vision HDR and DTS:X audio along with an hour of bonus features, headlined by an all-new, exclusive live-action short. If horror is more your speed, the studio is also releasing the supernatural child abduction tale The Black Phone starring Ethan Hawke on Blu-Ray. This release also contains a nice array of special features and a short film from director Scott Derrickson.
In the land of the catalog releases, Shout! Factory and Scream Factory are releasing an array of highly anticipated titles making their 4K UHD Blu-Ray debut. First off, we have the first three Child’s Play films coming to the format in Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos audio along with a ton of new special features that no fan will want to miss. Elsewhere the company is releasing the ’80s action classic Red Dawn on 4K UHD with a new 4K scan of the Original Camera Negative plus a nice array of legacy special features.
