We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in home entertainment week in and week out. For the week of July 18th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get the full rundown of what you should have on your wishlist, plus take a chance to check out what Michael and I are spotlighting on The Video Attic this week.
This weeks finds the arrival of one of the most entertaining of the summer releases we have seen this year. 20th Century Studios welcomes the big screen adventure The Bob’s Burgers Movie to 4K UHD Blu-Ray in a really fetching SteelBook packaging exclusively at Best Buy, perfect for any fans of the show. This release is also filled with fun special features including an audio commentary, an exclusive short, deleted scenes and more.
Elsewhere in the land of television, we have the recently Emmy-nominated Yellowjackets: Season One hitting Blu-Ray and DVD from CBS Home Entertainment. The amazing ensemble is led by Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable), Christina Ricci (The Addams Family) and Juliette Lewis (Camping).
In the land of the Criterion Collection (now having their 50% off sale at Barnes & Noble), we have two eagerly anticipated titles making their 4K UHD and Blu-Ray debut. First off, we have Denzel Washington’s knockout crime drama Devin In A Blue Dress debuting on 4K UHD with a host of new interviews and other supplements. We also have the Blu-Ray debut of the recent Best Picture nominee Drive My Car from director Ryusuke Hamaguchi. This release comes with a great array of insightful new special features to complement this terrific international breakthrough.
If you are looking for older favorites getting the respect they deserve on 4K UHD, look no further than the new 25th Anniversary SteelBook release of the sci-fi action-comedy classic Men In Black. Sony is taking this Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones blockbuster and giving it a new Dolby Vision transfer, the original DTS-HD 5.1 audio track and a couple of new interviews to give fans the most comprehensive release yet.
This is only a taste of the incredibly packed lineup you have to look forward to you this week. Be sure to check out the full list below after checking out The Video Attic where we discuss the final season of DC’s Batwoman on Blu-Ray, the Best Picture-winning Marty newly restored on Blu-Ray, the cult classic Good Burger on Blu-Ray in a new SteelBook, new releases from Mill Creek, Arrow Video, Kino Classics and more.
