People with differences, whether physical or mental tend to invoke different responses. With the two most prominent ones being fascination or fear. This is especially true when referring to the entertainment known as the “freak show.” While the spectacle also known as the “creep show” has been around since medieval times, it reached its most popular form between 1840 and 1940. It was this form of entertainment that became the backdrop for Mad Cave Studios series Show’s End by Anthony Cleveland and Jeferson Sadzinski.
It was a mix of the supernatural and the bizarre that was etremely well received by both readers and critics alike. Because of that popularity, Mad Cave along with original creators Cleveland and Sadzinski are bringing back Show’s End for a second volume: Shows End: The Second Coming. It’s as they say in show business and the freak show: “Even when the laughter fades, the curtains close, and the spotlight dims…the show ALWAYS goes on.”
Synopsis
Loralye and her carnival troop find refuge in a small circus town in Florida after they’re accused of murder. Our group discovers this circus town is now run by a strange religion that believes “freaks” are those closest to God, and Loralye begins to finally learn what she is through this religion. Meanwhile, Pavel and Vaddy uncover this town isn’t at all the loving place it claims to be.
