When your profession is a “hit man,” your reputation is only as good as your last job. And if you should FAIL at that job, there’s ALWAYS someone there to replace you. Such was the situation with Donny Dahlia. Once, he had been at the top of his game. Killing werewolves was just another assignment for him. But he had fallen on hard times recently. So much so that hardly anyone offered him a “mark” anymore. Which wasn’t good. Because unlike many in the profession, Donny had a family to consider. Especially the love of his life, his estranged daughter.
So, when facilitator Ollie Oleander called for him for a job, he was all for it. At least until he found out it was an “UPS” run, with him riding shotgun to Big Molly Bloom. The thickly muscled woman who had basically replaced him. However, at this particular moment, a job was a job and Donny couldn’t refuse the opportunity. Take a package from point A to point B, drop it off and get paid. Sounded simple enough. Of course, nothing ever IS simple. Not in THEIR line of work.
And especially NOT when you are not the only people interested in the package. People who have no qualms with collateral damage when it came to retrieving it. A package that could very well have the fate of the fairy world and his own in its delivery…or not. That is the world of Dahlia in the Dark!
Brought to you by the writer behind Mad Cave’s Becstar, Joe Corollo teams with artist Andrea Milana on this exciting new adventure. And as stated in a recent press release, both are excited to bring this project to the Mad Cave audience.
Writer Joe Corollo
I was thrilled when Mad Cave not only reached out to me about writing another book for them, but that they wanted me to work on something that was in many ways a departure from what I had done with “Becstar.” Crime noir and urban fantasy are genres I’ve always found joy in, so to be able to mash them up and run wild with them was a real treat. And while this book is in many ways different from “Becstar,” it’s still filled with a lot of personal character moments and even more action!
Artist Andrea Milana
At first, I was a bit awed about working on “Dahlia in the Dark,” as it’s the very first comic book series I got the chance to work on! Regardless, I was so excited about it: the story written by Joe got me over the initial hurdle and got me so passionate about the project that drawing that world became almost automatic. I hope my work can convey even a little bit of that passion!
