HBO To Adapt Tales of Dunk and Egg From George R.R. Martin

Tales of Dunk and Egg is a prequel to Game of Thrones and it’s getting a series adaptation. This is still early in the development stage at HBO. It will be a one-hour show that is based on the stories from George R.R. Martin. This show will follow the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk). And a young Aegon V Targaryen (Egg). This is 90 years prior to the events that occurred in A Song of Ice and Fire.

So far, Martin has published three novellas in the Tales of Dunk and Egg. This includes the Hedge Knight (1998), The Sworn Sword (2003), and The Mystery Knight (2010).

There’s no writer or talent attached to the project. And just because it’s in development doesn’t mean that it will move forward, as the Naomi Watts led spinoff show was previously approved for development. But, then was shut down by HBO.

What do you think about Tales of Dunk and Egg on HBO?
