For the past several years, the “Heart Eyes Killer” has wreaked havoc on Valentine’s Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples. This Valentine’s Day, no couple is safe….
For in-depth thoughts on Heart Eyes, please see my colleague Lane Mills’s review from its original theatrical release here.
Video Quality
Heart Eyes arrives on Blu-Ray with a 1080p presentation in its original 2.39:1 aspect ratio that looks exceptional in high definition. The clarity throughout is first-rate with subtle textures in the landscapes and costumes coming through perfectly. Black levels have a significant amount of depth and do not succumb to digital noise even in the plethora of darker scenes. The cinematography is a standout element of the film, and this disc handles things perfectly. Color saturation is stellar with the palette permeating the screen as desired. Skin tones are natural overall with skin exhibiting particular details such as blood and wounds as the story progresses. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has delivered a worthy presentation, even if we would have loved a 4K UHD Blu-Ray.
Audio Quality
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is a noble representation of this material. Dialogue comes through crisp and clear as it balances well with the soundtrack and the sound effects. The low end comes to play when it needs to for some nice texture. This track handles everything without a hiccup. The soundscape is very kinetic and hits hard when the narrative calls for it. This story features noises coming from unexpected places, weapons penetrating flesh, and more emanating from various directions. The movie whips up the environmental sounds effectively, and the track retains exceptional detail even when there are violent confrontations. Optional English, English SDH, Spanish, and French subtitles are provided.

Final Thoughts
Heart Eyes is an exceptionally fun twist on both the slasher and romantic comedy genres. Director Josh Ruben makes the smart choice not to take either side of the equation for granted, allowing each ingredient to feel essential. The romantics among us will genuinely become enamored with the chemistry between the performers, but horror fans should rest assured that there is some carnage around the corner pretty consistently, all executed with a humorous touch. The ensemble here work well together to deliver a fun time at the movies. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has provided a Blu-Ray disc that sports a stunning A/V presentation and a decent amount of supplements for those who do decide to check it out. Any horror fan will be happy to have this in their collection. Recommended
Heart Eyes will be available to purchase on Blu-Ray and DVD on April 15, 2025. The film is currently available on Digital.

Dillon is most comfortable sitting around in a theatre all day watching both big budget and independent movies.
