‘Hellboy’ Reboot Delayed Four Months for April 2019 Release

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6942″ img_size=”928×523″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]In disappointing news, the upcoming Hellboy movie, staring Stranger Things’ David Harbour as the titular character; is moved to a later date of April 12, 2019. The reboot had originally been intended for be released on January 11, 2019, but now the movie will premiere only one week after the superhero movie Shazam! Not only will Harbour’s film contend with that, but also Robert Downy Jr.’s The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, which will come out on the same day.

Both Harbour’s projects Hellboy and Stranger Things season three were moved back from original dates, but regardless the movie is looking good. It was hard to think that anyone could ever take Ron Perlman’s place as the iconic character, but as we’ve all come to really love Harbour from the Netflix original series, it seems like he’s fitted to do well in the role.

Mike Mignola wrote the script along with Andrew Cosby and Christopher Golden. Neil Marchall, known for his time on Game of Thrones, directed the project, which stars Milla Jovovich, American Gods’ Ian McShane, and Daniel Dae Kim. We are expected to see the Hellboy team at New York Comic Con next week, so we’ll hopefully get a trailer, despite the new, later release date.
