Henry Cavill Says He Wanted More Signs in The Witcher

Based on books by author Andrzej Sapowski, Henry Cavill leads the series as Geralt of Rivia. Geralt is a witcher, who are these mystical mutant beings who fight off monsters. In the Witcher world, witchers have several gestures, which are called signs and they produce certain effects. Cavill expressed how he pushed to have more signs in the show:

“I really wanted to push that in there, because for me the audience must know he can do these things. It mattered to me, because it’s all part of being a Witcher.”

Cavill is a fan of Geralt and you can tell he took extra care in making sure that a faithful adaptation of the character was brought to life. Signs are not that prevalent in the series, but The Witcher was renewed for a second season. This means, we could see more signs and potions and concoctions used by Geralt during his battles. Have you watched The Witcher yet? How do you think it compares to the books?
