Hiram Garcia talks ‘Fighting with My Family’, ‘Black Adam’ and More

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15254″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]If you have paid any attention to the entertainment landscape in the last few years, you would have been hard pressed not to see multiple projects from Seven Bucks Productions. This, of course, is the Production Company of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his partner Dany Garcia. Along with Dany’s Brother Hiram they have been one of the most busy and successful production companies going. One of their most recent projects, an indie film entitled Fighting with My Family was chosen to be shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Family involves an entire family whose life is wrestling. It is opening domestically this weekend.

In an interview with Variety, Hiram explained that they hadn’t planned on making an independent film. They had shopped Fighting with My Family to their normal Studio partners and none of them saw the potential Seven Bucks did so they pursued it alone, at least initially. Soon Film4 and the WWE were brought in and right before production was scheduled to begin, MGM agreed to pick up the film.

Never ones to let grass grow under their feet, Seven Bucks has moved on. They just wrapped on Hobbes and Shaw and are moving on to the sequel for Jumanji. Also on the horizon is the highly anticipated DC’s Black Adam which Hiram hopes to begin production in early 2020.

We’re also ramping up a couple big projects like “Black Adam” and our goal is to get that going at the top of 2020. The script is coming along well and we’re in the polishing phase now and are looking to attach the right director to it. A lot of people consider Dwayne a superhero already, so to finally have him play one on screen in the DC universe is a dream for us.

With all the films Seven Bucks has produced, how many of them have you seen? Are you looking forward to the Jumanji sequel and at the awaited Black Adam?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
