While the other Game of Thrones prequel series is dead, House of the Dragons seems to still be going steady. In fact, the show, which will explore House Targaryen; has started sending out casting calls for the lead character. As a reminder, this series will take place about 300 years before the start of the original HBO series, back when the name Targaryen didn’t mean death for every family member.
House of the Dragons does not have a release date, but according to Knight Edge Media, the official casting calls have gone out. Provided by Screen Rant, here are the official casting calls that have been sent out:
- Aegon Targaryen 20s, Caucasian Male. Married his two sisters VISENYA and RHAENYS. Withdrawn, quiet, pious. Harsh with those who defy him. Riding the dragon Balerion. LEAD
- Visenya Targaryen 20s, Caucasian Female. Older sister and wife of King AEGON TARGARYEN. A voluptuous, stern, serious, and unforgiving woman. Riding the dragon Vhagar. LEAD
- Rhaenys Targaryen20s, Caucasian Female. Youngest sister of King AEGON TARGARYEN. Kindhearted, graceful, playful, curious, impulsive, and given to flights of fancy, with a mischievous aspect to her personality. Riding the dragon Meraxes. LEAD
The Targayens love all have similar names. In Game of Thrones, the Mad King had already been taken out and House Targaryen was slaughtered – leaving only Daenerys and Viserys. Very quickly, it was only Daenerys left, but we’ve heard a lot about House Targaryen throughout the series. It was very obvious that the Targaryen’s ruled for most of history and so it will be interesting to see a series based around them, when their names have only been uttered throughout Game of Thrones’ eight-season arc.
