How Gambling Regulators ‘Cancelled’ 100s of Comic Book Themed Slot Machines

You will have heard the word cancelled, when it comes to people being removed from Social Media for having views and opinions others may not agree with. Well, gambling regulators over in the United Kingdom recently cancelled hundreds of online slot machines, due to them deciding they have no place online.

Those slot machines included lots of comic book themed slots, and the problem the UK Gambling Commission sought to address by ordering all casino sites that had such slots on offer to remove them was underage gambling.

It was decided that any slot machine that in any way shape or form has a theme that a child could or would find appealing had to be removed immediately from the gaming suites of the sites they regulate and oversee.

Other slots which faced a cull were superhero themed slots, any slot game that had a nursey rhyme or fairy tale type of theme, and in total literally hundreds of them were removed and ended up in a cyber dustbin.

That of course does mean that any of the dozens of different slot game design studios that supply UK based and licensed casino sites will have to concentrate their design efforts moving forward on games that cannot in any way be deemed to be appealing to children, which may sound easy but even a few recently launched slots have been knocked back by regulators.

A few older slot machines were given an urgent makeover to ensure any reel symbols depicting a character that an underage gambler could find appealing were changed, and a few popular slots were completely redesigned and given a different name and theme to ensure they adhered to that new rule.

Ensuring Full Casino Game Transparency

Another regulatory change that a handful of gambling regulators have recently made which affected casino sites such as Miami casino and slots was regarding the payback information on the huge and ever-growing range of games sites like that one offer their players.

It was decided that to ensure gamblers get as much information as possible and could make a well-balanced decision on the type of casino games they play, that the long term expected payout percentages each slot or video poker game available has been designed around should be published.

As such, if you do fancy playing those types of games online then always do spend a few minutes looking up that information, which can be found on the game pay tables, game play help files or even published on the website of each casino.

By doing so you will instantly be able to see just which casino games have the highest paybacks and therefore are the games you should be playing, whilst conversely being able to spot the much lower paying games and obviously you should always avoid playing those games.

The house edges of games such as Blackjack Roulette and Baccarat games and all other card and table games can also be found listed and fully published at many casinos too, so if they are games that you do enjoy playing that keep that fact in mind, and always do your research before you start to play.

Enforced Responsible Gambling Notifications

It is not hard to understand how some people can become hooked on gambling and can quickly develop all manner of different gambling related problems, and that is another area that all gambling regulators have chosen to concentrate their minds upon.

Gone have the days when anybody could sign up to an online or mobile casino site and simply max out their credit or debit card and empty their bank accounts by playing real money casino games without being challenged in one way or another.

When playing at for example casino sites that hold a UK gambling license, the operators of those sites are legally required to make available to their players a range of option settings to allow them to set themselves some limits before they start to play.

As such players are actively encouraged to set themselves a deposit limit and a period that limit will be in place, and once reached they will be barred from making any more deposits.

Onscreen reminders also flash up on a player’s screen alerting them to just how long they have been logged into the casino site and how much they have so far won or lost, and players can also set a time limit for just how long they can stay logged into their accounts for.

A take a break option is now also available to online gamblers, and they are in place to ensure if a player feels that they need some time out they can lock themselves out of their account for however long they want.

That feature, when taken ensures that anyone who feels they are gambling way too much can remove the temptation to carry on playing by locking themselves out of their casino account.

For anyone who does experience gambling related problems several initiatives have also been set up such as the one offered by GamStop.

They offer a self-exclusion register that anyone with a gambling problem can sign up to and once their name and personal details are added to that register, they are automatically blocked from being able to play, gamble or even sign up to all UK licensed gambling sites, including bingo, casino, poker and betting sites.
