Hulu Will Be Introducing Break Ads In the Spring

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14643″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]If you have Hulu, your one complaint is probably the ads. Not just the ads, but the disruption that they seem to cause while you’re in the middle of your show. Whereas streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime don’t have ads, Hulu does have the advantage of having episodes for shows pop up the day after its premiere on Cable network. You take the good with the bad.

It seems now that Hulu will be adding new ads this spring, introducing a tier system where the lowest tier will come with pause break ads. These will be designed to be “non-intrusive” and will have relevant messages during these breaks. According to Endgadget reports, Hulu has tested this new system and states that the process was popular. Hulu is planning to cut its prices in order to compete with Netflix, which just raised its price to 13.99; I can guess that these ads are to make up for that discount. Again, take the good with the bad.

In regards to Hulu’s service that you ca pay for in order to not have ads, the Help section notes:

“If you subscribe to Hulu (No Ads) + Live TV, please note that you will still see ads during live streams, DVR recordings and the additional on-demand content that is offered directly by each network. There are just a few shows in our streaming library that are not included in the ad-free plan due to streaming rights. The good news is that episodes of the shows listed below will still stream uninterrupted — there will just be a quick ad before and after each video.”

How do you feel about Hulu bringing in new break ads?
