A Bronx Tale (1993) Trailer | Robert De Niro | Chazz Palminteri

Box set of "A Bronx Tale" with 4K Ultra HD cover, two discs, and a script booklet featuring images from the film and main actors.Synopsis: One man lives in the neighbourhood, another man owns it. In 1960s New York, nine-year-old Calogero is torn between two worlds: that of his honest, hardworking father Lorenzo, and the one ruled by charismatic mob boss Sonny. Calogero’s double life becomes all the more complicated when he falls for an African American girl named Jane, and embarks on a dangerous romance that threatens to ignite the Bronx.

In 1990, Robert De Niro saw Chazz Palminteri’s one-man show “A Bronx Tale”, and declared it “one of the greatest one-man shows I’ve ever seen, if not the greatest”. Soon, the two men began working to adapt it into a film, with Palminteri scripting, De Niro directing, and both performing, respectively portraying the adult figures fighting over the destiny of young Calogero. Legendary film critic Roger Ebert gave it a perfect score, calling it “very funny” and “very touching”.

Not when there are currency shipments to steal from under the noses of snooty government officials and priceless jewels to lift from the boudoirs of the super-rich. The elusive scoundrel finds plenty of ways to live up to his name in this tongue-in-cheek, live-action caper inspired by Europe’s popular Diabolik comics. He clambers up walls, zaps a press conference with exhilaration gas, smacks a confession out of a crime lord whilst free-falling from an aeroplane, and pulls off the heist of a twenty-tonne gold ingot.

This Limited Edition 2-Disc Hardbox includes the film on both 4K UHD and Blu-ray, restored from the original 35mm negative, accompanied by six audio tracks and a heist full of Special Features, plus a 60-page Hardcover Booklet featuring a brand NEW essay by Danger: Diabolik historian Leon Hunt.
