Synopsis: Nothing goes according to plan during a massive confrontation.
Quick Recap:
War is here, and absolutely no one is safe. After the attack on Talescria, which a snitch triggered, it’s clear that what remains of the Viltrum Empire is playing for keeps. Grand Regent Thragg is dead set on eliminating anyone and anything that stands in the way of Viltrumite supremacy. Now that Mark has healed from his near-fatal rematch with Conquest and everyone has reunited to stop the total annihilation of Talescria and its citizens, there’s only one thing left to do: kill Thragg.
“However strong you think you are, Thragg is stronger.”
If Thragg has it his way, blood will rain from the skies. Rage, revenge, desperation, and death are in the air, and no one is coming out unscathed. Unfolding like Episode 2, Episode 7: Don’t Do Anything Rash begins with some Viltrumite history featuring Thaedus, Thragg, and Emperor Argall that connects various dots from throughout the season. Highlighting just how ruthless and cold-blooded Thragg can be, we finally get to behold his immense power and calculated fury, and it’s terrifying. With zero regard for any life that doesn’t benefit him or his cause, and punches that can create their own vacuum, the self-appointed Grand Regent of the Viltrum Empire is easily the most dangerous being that Mark and company have ever encountered. He has a disdain for weakness, traitors, and obstacles, everything he believes Nolan is beginning to represent and Thaedus is. Reminiscent of the MCU’s Thanos, if the other Viltrumites can’t cleanse the universe of their enemies, Thragg has no problem doing it himself. However, unlike Thanos, after witnessing Thragg’s perspective, it’s clear he has no redeeming qualities or arguments to be made on his behalf. He is indeed a true villain through and through.
Episode 7 feeds fans what they’re craving: complete chaos. It’s brutal, action-packed, and rich in storytelling. Also, blood does, in fact, rain from the skies. With the bloody confrontation possessing the majority of the runtime and the stakes being higher than ever, this episode will quickly become a series favorite. While there are still some awkward animation moments, its peak moments more than make up for it. Aside from the nonstop action, there are layers of depth. As the realization that his kind is inching closer to extinction, with his help no less, Nolan has difficult decisions to make, and he has to look Thragg in his eyes when he does. No matter the choices he makes, the consequences will change the universe forever.
This isn’t a Mark-centric episode, but he leaves an impression, nevertheless. Oliver continues to do the opposite of what he’s told; he must love the inside of his eyelids. Battle Beast is ready to die for the glory of battle. Allen, Tech Jacket, and Space Racer have a few tricks up their sleeves, and Thaedus may have too much tunnel vision. With its exciting fight sequences and incredibly shocking moments straight from the comics, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. Its rewatchability is high.
“Thragg’s death is the only thing that matters.”

Final Thoughts
Honestly, this could’ve been the finale, and I would’ve accepted it. The episode features multiple pivotal moments, the most elaborate battle we’ve seen yet, a few losses, and a huge cliffhanger. This feels like we’re reaching a point where every episode is a banger like Season 4 and 5 of The Walking Dead, while this episode feels like Season 7 episode 1 (IYKYK). With this episode being so explosive, if the finale doesn’t at least match the same energy, it could be a gigantic letdown.
Invincible Season 4 concludes on April 22, 2026, with all other episodes now streaming on Prime Video. Stay safe and stay woke.
