‘Iron Fist’ Twitter Teases Conflict Between Danny and Davos

Both Daredevil and Jessica Jones saw the division of friendships in their second seasons. It seems like Iron Fist is planning to go a step further. In the first season, we saw the brewing of discord between Danny Rand and his longtime friend Davos. Jealous that Rand became the Iron Fist and angry that it didn’t seem like he was worthy of the title, Davos can be seen meeting with Joy Meachum at the end of the season to plot against the titular character. Joy has her own vendetta against the boy wonder, having just reunited with her father and angry over the plan to take Harold down; Ward ends up being the one to kill his father after years of abuse by father Meachum’s hands.

From the trailer, clips, and pictures, we know Davos will be the main antagonist in the second season of Iron Fist. From a new tweet released by the Iron Fist twitter, we know the tone will be Danny fighting against who was a former friend. Where it seems like Foggy and Matt can reconcile and we can only hope for the same with Trish and Jessica, I don’t believe making nice is in Davos and Danny’s future. Instead, I believe there will be fighting, pain, and tears. I think it’s completely possible that the show could take a dark turn and perhaps Danny will be forced to put down his former ally, forcing him to cross the line that Colleen had prevented him from doing in season one.

Season two of Iron Fist is already looking to be better than the first. We know that Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick took longer training than they did the first time around and Iron Fist has gotten a new showrunner. Finn Jones received a lot of praise in Luke Cage season 2, viewers immediately noticed an improvement from the Danny Rand we’ve seen in Iron Fist and the Defenders. I’m interested in seeing this difficult situation between Danny and Davos play out and see what decision our main character may have to make.
