‘Ironheart’ Actress Dominique Thorne Says She Didn’t Need an Audition Tape to Get Role

One of the many Marvel Disney+ shows that’s expected to come out is Ironheart. Riri Williams is a “genius teen inventor who creates the most advanced armor-suit since Iron Man”. Riri made her comics debut in 2015. She was invented by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato.

Dominique Thorne will play the lead role in the upcoming show and even though she has just two acting credits under her belt, Marvel knew she was perfect for the part. So much so, Thorne details about the lack of a need for an audition tape from her:

“I was at home in Delaware and I got a call asking if I would like to play this role. It was the best phone call I could have ever received. I was so shocked, in fact, that there was a considerable lag in the conversation!” I was waiting for them to say, like, ‘Oh, we’ll send you the sides’, or, ‘Get your tape over to us.’ But there was none of that. It was just like, ‘Would you like to do this?’ It was probably the most unique experience I’ve ever had because there was no audition at all.”

Who else is excited for Ironheart?
