Is DIABLO Coming To Netflix?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4359″ img_size=”1280×720″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][vc_column_text]UPDATE: Variety has released an article today hinting that the news first reported by Revenge of the Fans might indeed be coming true. According to the site, BOOM! Studios Andy Cosby tweeted out that he was in FINAL TALKS to be the showrunner and writer for the series which is set to debut on Netflix.

“It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out,”

The tweet has since been deleted but this is pointing to good news that we will be getting the Diablo series which will be animated and not live action. Hopefully Cosby or Netflix will make an official announcement soon. You can check out our original coverage of this news below.

Video Games might love this news. According to our friend Mario F. Robles with Revenge of the Fans has a hot new rumor he dropped earlier. Netflix already has adapted the highly popular video game series Castlevania into a television series and now we might be getting a Diablo film. Mario also reports that current Hellboy writer Andrew Cosby has been tapped to write. No other details were given and this news should be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement from Netflix.

If you are not familiar with Diablo, the game debuted in December of 1996 from Blizzard Entertainment, the story is a tale of good vs evil – demons vs angels in a fictional world called Sanctuary. Blizzard has already seen one of its games, Warcraft, adapted into a film in 2016. If Diablo does become a thing then someone really needs to get on making StarCraft into a film or television series.
