Apparently. In this sequel, called Jesus Rolls; John Turturro’s Jesus Quintana will be the center of the upcoming film. Turturro wrote and directed this movie himself and we finally have footage to show us what we can expect, even though it doesn’t hit theaters in the U.S. until 2020. Jesus Rolls does open in Italy next month, which Italian distributor Europicture releasing the country’s official trailer. Just so you know, the trailer is dubbed in Italian! Guardere!
Jesus Rolls was filmed in 2016 and recently was acquired by Screen Media. Along with Turturro, is Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, Jon Hamm, Christopher Walken, and Susan Sarandon star in the film.
While the Coen Brothers had nothing to do with this film, Turturro had spoken with The Independent earlier this year to express that the filmmakers have given their blessing:
“They’re my friends, close friends, and were supportive when I said I wanna explore this character more. They said, you gotta do it cause we’re not doing it! If I have something to show, I show it to them if they’re around.”
