James Gunn is Looking for a “Monstrous Femme Fatale” To Bring to The Suicide Squad

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9300″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is gaining traction and all eyes are on any news that comes out of this. Not only is Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn writing and directing this film, but we have the news that Idris Elba is replacing Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courtney may be coming back, and that we will be seeing such characters as King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, Ratcatcher, and Peacemaker. Will the movie draw inspiration from the 1980s series of the Suicide Squad which makes Deadshot one of the main characters? We shall see!

But, the latest news is that Gunn is looking to bring in an extraterrestrial to his rendition of The Suicide Squad, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering he is the man known for bringing the Guardians to life in the MCU. According to Revenge of the Fans, the director is looking for a “monstrous femme fatale” creature who is a surly, muscular alien woman. Someone we will most likely see using prosthetics. According to Revenge of the Fans, she has to be “Queens tough”. Love it.

It’s obvious that this movie will be different than David Ayer’s 2016 rendition, which drew a lot of criticism in. While the characters themselves were praised, the plotline and lack of the Joker was really criticized. Something the director himself recognized:

“Believe me. I agonize over this,” Ayer tweeted in November of 2017. “Yes. Joker should have been main bad guy.“

Gunn brought the Guardians, a group that virtually no one knew or even cared about; to life. I have no doubt he’ll do the same with these seemingly obscure characters and considering he’s bringing in someone from outer space, we already know we’re in for one wild ride.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
