James Gunn Shoots Down Alpha Groot in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3’

Guardians of the Galaxy star Vin Diesel set off a flurry of excitement recently while promoting his new movie Bloodshot. Fans have been eagerly anticipating any new information they can get about Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3, specifically about fan-favorite Groot. Audiences have seen Groot in a variety of different forms, but they were not sure what to think about this recent exchange Diesel had with Brandon Davis at ComicBook.com:

“I only have two words about that character and it is ‘Alpha Groot.'”

While speculation was rampant after that story hit, James Gunn has recently jumped in on Twitter to give a little clarity to the situation:

While there is always the possibility that Vin let something slip that he shouldn’t have, Gunn has typically been a straight shooter with fans. It might be a while before details on where Groot goes next are released. Those trying to decipher what an “Alpha Groot” would look like should take a beat for the time being.
