Jay & Silent Bob Is Officially Getting a Reboot

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12610″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]I’m not immensely against reboots. There’s been some credible ones throughout the years and some we’re even looking forward to, like The Lion King or Dumbo. But, there’s others that I wish would simply stay in the past and unfortunately one of them will have to be Jay and Silent Bob. Kevin Smith, the well-known director who created the characters in 1994 with the first Clerks movie, will be rebooting the franchise with him and Jason Mewes reprising their roles as Jay and Silent Bob.

Mewes’s wife will be serving as a producer on the project, though; this is no the first time she’s paired with Smith on a movie, having worked with him in 2012 on Tusk. There is no return date and not a lot known, but the IMDB plot description has it as:

“[Jay and Silent Bob] as they return to Hollywood to stop a reboot of ‘Bluntman and Chronic’ movie from getting made.”

Along with Smith and Mewes, Brian O’Hallora will be reprising his part as Dante Hicks, who infamously repeated the line that we all think at work when things go awry, “I’m not even supposed to be here today”.

Mewes back in 2017 stated (about the reboot script):

“I’ve read the script, and it’s amazing and it’s super clever,” he told ComicBook.com. “It’s called Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, and it’s Jay and Bob making fun of reboots. It’s funny — a couple of people have asked me, ‘are you guys even playing the characters if it’s a reboot?’ It’s not really a reboot, Kevin called it Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, and it’s us making fun of reboots, but the script’s awesome. It’s very funny.”

While there is no release date, filming is set to start in 2019. How do you feel about a Jay & Silent Bob reboot? Let us know![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
