When you’ve been to the stars, by stars I mean Star Trek and now Star Wars, you can tend to write your own ticket or at least negotiate an extremely large one. That is where JJ Abrams finds himself as he works on Star Wars: Episode IX and prepares to consolidate all his various productions under one Studio.
In a story reported by Variety, Abrams is working toward an arrangement that will include “films, television series, digital content, music, games, consumer products, and opportunities at theme parks”…and his own breakfast cereal. Ok, I made up the breakfast cereal part but needless to say, Abrams wants a piece of just about everything. While no real numbers have been revealed, it is said to be in the “mega-deal” neighborhood. That a neighborhood many people would like to live in.
As for who he might be dealing with, it is thought that logical choices might be Disney and Comcast/Universal as they would present the best opportunity for Abrams to connect with the “theme parks” part of his goals. Both have their advantages as he is already working with the Mouse on his Star Wars film, and Universal still has a connection with Abrams mentor and directing legend Steven Spielberg.
So many choices, so much money…Who do you think Abrams will eventually land a deal with and for how much? It’s time to be JJ Abrams agent and explain where his best landing spot might be with us at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
