Joaquin Phoenix Shares His Thoughts On What Fans Think of Him Playing The JOKER

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3724″ img_size=”750×446″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When it was announced that WB was doing an else world style film revolved around the Joker I was one of the few who saw this as a good thing. This movie could open the door to so many other else world films that WB and DC might never have thought of. If this movie does well then we could possibly see a version of Superman: Red Son, the possibilities are endless. I am also am quite intrigued about the inclusion of Martin Scorsese and Todd Phillips, I figure this movie must have something there for Scorsese to be involved.  But there were fans and there still are fans who think the idea of this movie is stupid and it should never see the light of day. WB announces they are casting Joaquin Phoenix for the role of the Joker and my ears perk up, I am thinking to myself “WOW!” this movie just got a whole lot better. But still some fans think this movie is a waste of time or they want WB to make the film the way they want it to be made. Regardless of what fans might think, Joaquin Phoenix says he “Could care less”. Speaking with Indiewire the actor had this to say about what fans think

“I could care less. I don’t really think that much about what people think. Who cares, who cares? My approach to every movie is the same. What I’m interested in is the filmmaker and the idea of the character,”

Did anyone think he took this role as a service to the fans? I sure didn’t. I do like his quote about being interested in the filmmaker and the character. I think Joaquin will give everything he has to make sure his version of the Joker is one to remember. The cast for this film is shaping up nicely, with the additions of Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Marc Maron. How do you feel about Phoenix’s comments? Leave us a comment below.
