Joe Hill Confirms ‘Locke & Key/Sandman’ Crossover Still on Schedule

When it became known that a IDW Locke and Key/ DC Sandman crossover entitled Hell and Gone was in the works, fans were excited. It even had a publication date of  this October. But then the whole CV-19 pandemic seemed to take all future plans and throw them into a blender.

But now that things are slowly adjusting to the new norm, Locke and Key Co-Creator Joe Hill was recently asked about the much anticipated crossover.

For years, we’ve been talking about doing a Locke & Key/Sandman crossover, and we’re finally doing it. That’s actually finally happening.

But first writer Hill and Co-Creator artist Gabriel Rodriguez have some work of their own to complete.

There’s a new Locke & Key story coming out called Locke & Key: In Pale Battalions Go, about World War One. I think the first issue of that comes out in August. There’s three issues in all, and it sets off the Locke & Key/Sandman crossover, which is called Hell and Gone.

When asked about Sandman’s Neil Gaiman’s participation, Hill made it clear that Gaiman was participating, even if he hadn’t planned to.

He’s definitely consulting, whether he likes it or not, since I email him whenever I have a question.

Now whether this happens in October is up in the air, but we’ll keep you posted. Are you excited about the upcoming Locke and Key/Sandman Crossover? Share your hopes for the title with us at GeekVibesNation.
