John C. Reilly Says He’s “Unsure” If His Character Survived Avengers: Infinity War

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9911″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]John C. Reilly plays Nova Corpsman Rhomann Dey in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, first seen in the first movie as someone who originally was an obstacle for Peter Quill and his merry band of misfits. Having realized, though; that Quill and the other Guardians looked to save Xandar, Dey petitioned for the Nova Corps to help defeat Ronan and keep the planet safe.

Unfortunately, not everyone has a happy ending and we find out in Avengers: Infinity War that Thanos destroyed Xandar in his journey to get the Infinity Stones. So, should we assume everyone is dead? Did any escape? Were there rescue pods? What about the Nova Corps? In a press conference, Reilly spoke about his uncertain future in the MCU:

“I don’t know. I’m surprised they decided not to make a third Guardians, but, yeah. I’m not sure! Marvel certainly doesn’t tell me what’s going on in the Marvel Universe. I was just lucky enough to get that job in the first place. It kind of ticked a box for me, you know? ‘Get to be a guy who’s in outer space,’ that’s a pretty cool thing to be able to do.”

Considering the third Guardians of the Galaxy is on hold and Disney/Marvel are remaining tight-lipped on Avengers 4, we are unsure if we’ll ever see the Nova Corps in the MCU again.

In the meantime, you can get out John C. Reilly in the upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet, the sequel to Wreck-IT Ralph, which will hit theaters on November 21st.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
