John Lithgow is added to the FX CIA Drama ‘The Old Man’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”29530″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It seems that Disney owned FX is pulling out all the stops for its new CIA drama series The Old Man. FX has already announced that Jeff Bridges will play the title role of former CIA agent Dan Chase. In the show, Chase had departed from the CIA decades ago. He had been doing his best to live off of the grid and away from his former life. However, when an assassin tries to kill him, he realizes that is not possible anymore. He must re-enter that world once again to reconcile his past. This will be Bridges first starring TV role.

Apparently, FX Has decided to up the star power ante by adding six time Emmy winner John Lithgow to costar with Bridges. Lithgow will play Harold Harper, a former FBI agent. Harper is brought back to the bureau after only recently suffering a terrible personal loss. However, it is believed his former relationship with Chase will make him the man best suited to bring him in.

If the hiring of Bridges and Lithgow wasn’t enough, FX has tabbed Jon Watts to direct the pilot episode. Watts was the director for both of the MCU’s Spider-Man films. In addition to his directing chores, Watts is also executive producing the show. He will be joined by Warren Littlefield (Fargo), Dan Shotz, Bridges and David Schiff. The show is based on the novel by Thomas Perry.
