John Slattery To Reprise His Role as Howard Stark in Avengers 4

While Dominic Cooper plays a younger version of Tony Stark’s Howard Stark, it was an older version that we were first introduced to in the Iron Man movies. John Slattery has picked up the role here and there throughout the MCU and it seems like he may do it again. According to reports from That HashTag Show, he may have filmed a scene for Avengers 4 with Robert Downey Jr.  The Mad Man actor is a figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Tony is reflecting on him and his relationship with his father, which has not always been pleasant.

The only reason I could think of is that Slattery appears in flashbacks or through time travel. We last saw the brutal murder of Tony Stark’s parents by Bucky’s hand in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is what led to an epic showdown between Iron Man and Captain America. Avengers 4, as we know; will deal with time travel. We’ve already seen Chris Evans in gear from the first Avengers, as well as Tom Hiddleston as Loki from that very movie. Is it possible that we may see Tony reflecting again with his father as he deals with the troubles of Avengers 4 and the death of someone you can argue was like a son to him (Peter Parker)?

Avengers 4 will premiere May 3, 2019.
