Bang bang, reload, break some jaws and repeat. If you enjoy fast past, high intensity, gun busting martial arts movies then ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum‘ is the movie of your dreams. The film, directed by former stuntman Chad Stahleski, is the third and arguably best installment of the action series. From start to finish it’s knife throwing, bone breaking, sword swinging, guns blazing fun and there’s dogs. The dogs are awesome.
While an abundance of highly skilled assassins are lurking around every corner trying to kill him, Mr. Wick pulls out every move in his arsenal of hand to hand combat to prevent his demise. Keanu Reeves as John Wick puts on a physical performance of a lifetime. Another star in Halle Berry makes her presence felt with a kickass performance leaving me wanting more of the John Wick and Sofia duo or should I say quartet, I won’t spoil it. The scene with martial artist Mark Dacascos felt reminiscent of ‘Game of Death’ with Bruce Lee and I loved it. The film with its amazing cinematography, chase scenes, and fight choreography, is pure violence gold and will rival your favorites in the genre.
I won’t rain on your parade this time because I don’t have anything negative to say, it was a great movie. It’s a perfect film to kickoff your summer. ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’ will be in theaters everywhere May 17, 2019.
*Editors Note: The sound editing for this film is some of the best I have ever heard in a film. You can hear every gun shot, punch, kick, bone snap with such clarity. The film also has some really beautiful cinematography thanks to Dan Lausten. John Wick 3 is not only one of the most bad ass films you will see this year but its one of the most beautifully shot.
