With the third John Wick film well underway, it will be missing a character that was featured in the previous chapter. Unlike John Wick 2, rap star Common (real name: Lonnie Corant Jaman Shuka Rashid Lynn) will not be reprising his role as the hitman who was on par with Keanu Reeves John Wick. This is in spite of Common’s character being one of the few people Wick had actually left living. This was confirmed when interviewed by Comingsoon.net.

I’m not in the third part, but I could say that I really loved being a part of John Wick 2 and it was an amazing experience. Working with Keanu and Chad, they’re just phenomenal. Challenged and really passionate about the stuff, and I can say that three is going to be incredible, though, I’ll tell you that much. It’s going to be great.

The actual title of the film is kind of up in the air at this point as both John Wick:Chapter 3 and John Wick 3: Parabellum have been attached to the film. Reeves himself appeared to believe that the latter was going to be used as he explained the origin of the title:

The title means “prepare for war. It’s part of that famous sentence, ‘Si vis pacem, para bellum,’ which translates as, ‘If you want peace, prepare for war.’

Regardless of the title, this will be one war where Wicks will not have a “Common” enemy. For you fans of the series, will the fact that Common’s character will not be in the third chapter matter to you? Are you looking forward to seeing this third chapter in the tale of John Wick?
