According to Scarlett Johansson, though; Disney didn’t ask Waititi to water anything down or take anything out:
“Ultimately when Jojo Rabbit went over [to Disney], it didn’t make any difference, which was cool. Because I was worried that maybe it would.”
Johansson stars in the film as Rosie Betzler, who is a German woman who is secretly sheltering a young Jewish girl in her home. Life becoming confusing for Rosie’s son Jojo, who is a fanatical Hitler fan who wants to become a dedicated Nazi. Did we also mention that Jojo sees an imaginary version of Hitler, played by Waititi? Jojo Rabbit is described as an “anti-hate satire”.
Are you excited for Jojo Rabbit?
