Todd Phillips Joker sequel titled Joker: Folie a Deux has been set for a fall 2024 release.
When Joker was released back in 2019, it instantly became one of the most successful comic-book movies of all time both at the box office and at the awards. After surprising the film community by winning the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Joker became the first R-rated film to ever gross $1 billion worldwide and if that wasn’t enough earning it 12 Oscar nominations, including Joaquin Phoenix winning his first Oscar for his performance as a struggling comedian Arthur Fleck, aka The Joker.

Folie a Deux roughly translates to “Shared Madness,” which is a condition that is generally defined as an identical or similar mental disorder affecting two or more individuals, usually the members of a close family. Which leads to speculation that Harley Quinn may be involved in the flick, sure enough we did learn that no other than Lady Gaga herself had been cast in the role.
Details about the flick are far and few between, but the A Star is Born actress obviously will not be playing the same Harley Quinn as we saw Morgot Robbie portray in Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad.
From what we know the film is being developed as a musical, but again, we still don’t know much other info to go by.
Filming is reportedly set to start this December.
The Wrap’s: report on the news mentions that “a lot of the sequel” will take place in Arkham Asylum.
