Not too long ago I wrote a piece explaining why I felt Jon Hamm would be the perfect Batman and there were some naysayers, but many like myself who agreed. Well, it seems in light of Henry Cavill stepping out as Superman and Ben Affleck not likely to return as Bruce Wayne, WB will most likely want to start recasting. There’s a lot of speculation over who could play the Caped Crusader. There were even rumors that Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington could be Batman, although; this is not something I could personally see.
While Hamm states he’s never been approached about the possibility of playing Batman, he mentioned he would be interested in it:
“It depends on the script, what the story is,” Hamm told Bensinger. “I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well.”
Best known for his star role on Mad Men, as well as his performance in the recent heist movie Baby Driver, Hamm would be an absolutely amazing Bruce Wayne. Having the debonair style that Bruce Wayne is known for, I believe he’d be great at performing action sequences and really honing in that “dark” façade that the Caped Crusader is known for. While we aren’t sure what batman’s future is in the DCEU, it’s nice to dream, right?
