Along with sibling rivalry/issues. When we first saw Nebula, she was viciously attempting to take down her sister Gamora and while we saw a little of this in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, it was revealed that Nebula’s biggest tiff with Gamora was the latter’s need to always win. While Gamora was praised for her victories by Thanos, Nebula’s humanity was chipped away and robotics replaced multiple parts of her. In the end, the two rectified their differences and a strong sisterly bond was present in Avengers: Infinity War.
Nebula’s robotic voice is a quintessential part of her character, but the actress Karen Gillan revealed that a certain aspect of the warrior was intended to be different originally:
“I auditioned for Nebula in a Scottish accent. Did a screen-test in a Scottish accent and got the role. She was going to be Scottish! We were going to have an Invernessian alien in Guardians of the Galaxy. We were so close! And then right before I started filming the director (James Gunn) was like, ‘make her American.’ And I was like ‘okay’.
Gillan herself is Scottish and so I wonder how she would have sounded if James Gunn had kept her voice as is. It’s certainly an interesting piece of information for us to mull over!
Nebula survived Thanos’s finger snap of doom and has been spotted in reshoots for Avengers 4, along with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie. Can we say badass women mashup? Nebula is currently stranded on a planet with Tony Stark, the only two survivors out of the rest of the Guardians and Peter Parker.
We’ll get to see Nebula’s “unfinished business” with her father Thanos on May 3, 2019![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
