Fans are awaiting more news about the film, such as how the characters are returning, and what are the plans concerning the franchise moving forward? People of course want to know what is going to happen in the fourth Matrix, especially since there’s been so much time in between the third one and fourth film.
Reeves did speak with ET and revealed that he’s read the script and that is was very impressive:
“It’s very ambitious. As it should be!”
Keanu also expressed how excited he is about the sequel. Filming will begin sometime in 2020 and Warner Bros. chairman Tob Emmerich expressed his excitement about having the team back:
“We could not be more excited to be re-entering the Matrix with Lana. Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in The Matrix universe.”
Wachowski commented:
“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.”
