Keri Russell talks about working with her friend JJ Abrams on ‘Star Wars Episode IX’

For those who are fans of Felicity and The Americans, the name of Keri Russell is quite familiar. When Keri worked on Felicity, she had the opportunity to work with its creator JJ Abrams. Now that her time on The Americans is over, she will once again have that opportunity by signing up for Abrams Star Wars IX movie.

This will not be the only other time she has worked with Abrams as she also worked on Mission Impossible 3 with the director. Speaking with Deadline about her relationship with Abrams, Russell explained:

“It is just so much more fun to work with someone that you like so much,” Russell said of the director. “I mean, we see each other and then we talk nonstop and fill in all the details of the past years, and you know, it’s just nice when you have that kind of fun and history with someone. It makes it all that much more enjoyable. When J.J. calls so unexpectedly, cool things happen.”

The role Russell will play has not been revealed as of yet, much like that of former LOST star Dominic Monaghan, who also signed on for the last of the Star Wars Skywalker saga.
