Kevin Feige Dubs The First Three Phases of the MCU the “Infinity Saga”

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17968″ img_size=”800×448″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]With Avengers: Endgame meant to be the turning point within the MCU, where the next Phase will focus more on new characters that have been introduced/will be introduced, we are seemingly saying goodbye to an era. With the first three Phases under our belt, it seems only right that this decade of films be memorialized in some way. Well, Marvel’s Head Feige has officially dubbed the box set: The Infinity Saga, which is incredibly fitting considering it seems like everything always was working towards the explanation of the Infinity Stones and Thanos’ eventual quest to find them all.

Feige explained:

“We wanted to bring to a conclusion a series of movies in a way that had never been done before,. Harry Potter had an ending because there were only so many books. Lord of the Rings too. But we thought, 22 movies in, wouldn’t it be fun to bring some finality to the storyline?”

Endgame will be the closing of one door and the opening of another. We’re presumably going to see some characters retire, such as Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. But, we not only have Spider-Man’s sequel, Black Panther, but we have Captain Marvel now, as well as the upcoming introduction of The Eternals and Black Widow’s solo film. With the Disney and Fox deal nearing completion, it is only logical that Feige will look to introduce the characters that are coming home in the next Phase.

And we are getting our third Guardians of the Galaxy now that James Gunn is coming home as well.

What do you think about the dubbed name “The Infinity Saga”? Catch Avengers: Endgame when it hits theaters on April 26th.
