They’re back! The Green Hornet and Kato thanks to Kevin Smith and WildBrain we will see the duo in an all-new animated series. With Smith at the wheel, not only will we get some new twist, but he will be bringing back all the components of the classical characters. Black beauty and the universe that sounds them will all be apart of it too. Green Hornet and Kato will reimagine and the series will take place in modern times. What we will actually be seeing are the grown son and daughter of Green Hornet and Kato. It will be up to these two to protect the city and carry on the legacy all in the present day. Smith is excited to be a part of this series and has been a huge fan.
“It’s an honor to escort the legendary Green Hornet and Kato into their very own animated series for the first time in the rich history of these iconic pop culture characters! We’ll be telling a tale of two Hornets – past and future – that spans generations and draws inspiration from a lifetime spent watching classic cartoons and amazing animation like Batman: The Animated Series, Heavy Metal, and Super Friends. I can’t believe WildBrain gave me this job and I can’t thank them enough for the opportunity to extend my childhood a little longer.”
Stephanie Betts, EVP Content and Current Series at WildBrain, said: “We’re thrilled to embark on a new animated Green Hornet series with Kevin, who has set up an incredibly rich world with a cast of amazing characters – especially Kato, who is no longer just a sidekick but is now a strong female partner to the Green Hornet. With his ingenious talent and passion for superheroes and classic franchises, Kevin is the perfect creator to update the Green Hornet. We’re excited to share the new Green Hornet and Kato with audiences worldwide.”
If you’d like more details Smith will give more on the next episode of Fatman Beyond at 8 PM PDT today, and you can check that out here.

Mamma, Mimi, Michele, call out any one of those names and I will answer. There are several hats on my shelf. My passions are photography, being outside, movies, tv, pop culture and anything haunted or spooky. People are my other interest, I love meeting new people and socializing. When I lived in Savannah GA I worked as a tour guide both haunted and historical tours. I met people from all over the world, that was the best part of the job. All of this I can write about too, that’s the beauty of being a writer.
