Magnolia Home Entertainment has announced that the character-driven drama Late Fame will debut on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital on October 6, 2026. The film is directed by Kent Jones, and it stars Willem Dafoe, Greta Lee and Edmund Donovan. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2025, and it tells the story of the life and impact of newfound fame on poet Ed Saxberger. Get the details below!

Synopsis: At the very end of the 1970’s, post office worker Ed Saxberger (Willem Dafoe, The Florida Project) wrote a book of poetry that nobody cared about. Now years later, after an eager and flattering fan (Edmund Donovan, Civil War) appears on his doorstep, Saxberger is beckoned into a coterie of young admirers who anoint him a rediscovered genius. The group of downtown bohemians is led by their tragic heroine, Gloria (Greta Lee, Past Lives).

Intoxicated by the attention, and Gloria’s alluring presence, Saxberger gradually reckons with the authenticity of his newfound poetic circle. From director Kent Jones (Diane), OscarⓇ -nominated screenwriter Samy Burch (May December), and based on Arthur Schnitzler’s novella of the same name, Late Fame is a wistful yet unromantic look at a lost idea of downtown New York.
