Latest ‘Fast 9’ Trailer Shows The Franchise Is Headed To Space

With the new Fast and Furious franchise movie, F9, trailer dropping, there were some pretty surprising reveals. One which included Tej, played by Ludacris, and Roman, played by Tyrese Gibson, blasting off into space using their car that turned into a rocket ship. The scene cuts just as they are reaching the edge of the atmosphere. Vin Diesel commented during a recent press conference:

“That’s one of the magical things about this saga…we get to travel to all these wonderful places. Part of the reason why Fast 10 has to be broken into two different movies is because there’s so much ground to cover. And there’s so many places in so many locations in the world that we have to visit.”

The franchise has gotten more wild and even more furious—if that’s possible—during the past twenty years. The characters have become more like superheroes almost, jumping from building to building in their cars or racing on water with them. A trip to space may have been a running joke with fans before, but as the years have passed it seemed to become more and more of a possibility. Director, Justin Lin, is doing his best to create a believable (as much as that is even possible) plot possibly involving space travel. The director told The Hollywood Reporter recently:

“I’m on the phone with scientists, learning about fuel and physics. It was great, having the scientists on the other line going, ‘wait, what? What are you trying to do?’ I love it.”

Once Lin came up with the idea he immediately presented it to Vin Diesel, and they agreed and mapped out the movie together. Lin assures that there is plenty of surprises left for the movie that were not included in the trailer. It is sure to be a big movie opening with the release happening when things may be opening back up again since the pandemic shut down last year.

F9 will be in theaters on June 25, 2021.
