Law & Order: SVU Season 20 Will Premiere at the Tribeca TV Festival

Not that any of us are complaining. The crime show centering around a unit within the NYPD that solves sex-crimes is oddly satisfying to binge-watch. Recently, I went on a bit of a marathon myself, as admittedly I hadn’t tuned into SVU since Christopher Meloni left the show. Without Elliot Staler and with all the shuffling around, I just didn’t feel like it was the same show I loved anymore. I was wrong, thankfully. Tuning back in, I found that even though a lot of the veteran cast is gone, it’s still just as enjoyable. The new people they’ve had on for the past few seasons really mesh well and Mariska Hargitay is still the center of the series.

Unfortunately, Netflix only has seasons fifteen through eighteen on its streaming site, but some of the best episodes were in season fifteen with the “Save Benson” trope, as Pablo Schreiber as William Lewis is still the show’s scariest villain to date. Peter Scanavino also makes a great addition as Dominick “Sonny” Carisi and was there anyone more iconic as Raul Esparza playing Rafael Barba?

Going into its twentieth season, SVU fans who live in New York City will get a chance to see the premiere a week before the show airs on TV. The Tribeca TV Festival will premiere SVU season twenty on Thursday, September 20th, a whole week before it comes to NBC. As if that wasn’t great enough news, the cast and creator Dick Wolf will come out to answer questions from the audience. This includes main cast members such as Mariska Hargitay, Philip Winchester, Peter Scanavino, Ice-T and Kelli Giddish. The premiere episode will be two hours long and again, who would ever think that’s a bad thing?

Tickets for the Tribeca TV Festival are $40.00.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
