There are lists for top, middle, jungle, bottom, and support champions, each focusing on different factors for ranking. Each list has champions ranked into God, great, and average tiers. At the following link, you can find more info about the LoL tier list for climbing the solo queue.

Climbing the Queue

One of the best ways to get better at any game is to play often and understand your character well. Get to know the mechanics of the game and your champion. You can even watch your game replay and try to figure out what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future. Below are some of the best tips for improving your general game and climbing the ranks.

Choose a Main Champion

Playing with only one champion can be boring when there are so many to choose from. But, learning everything about one character and winning often is much more fun than constantly changing and losing every second game.

It’s best to main a character that isn’t too mechanically demanding or challenging, but it’s ultimately up to you and your skills. If you learn and understand all the champions’ matchups, lane counters and matchups become less stressful because you instinctively know what to do.

Know Your Moves

The best way to master your game and champion is to learn everything there is to know about them. Once you understand how each of your moves interacts with each of the other champions’ moves, you can start to strategize and get around their defenses. It’s best to learn how you can help or work with each character on your team to increase your power. Though often other players don’t understand their characters, and you can’t work well together. In these situations, you should know how to buff and help them or keep yourself going without that teamwork.

Completely understanding what your character does and how to unlock that power could take hundreds or even thousands of games. But, once you’ve mastered your main champion, you’ll be virtually invincible.

Lane Control

Choosing the right lane for your character is essential to your success. Each lane has slightly different gameplay and is suited for certain types of champions.

The bottom line is best for the marksmen or ADC’s, since these characters are usually squishy but can do a ton of damage if their aim is true. It takes some careful positioning, but you can be the savior of your team with high damage hits. Just remember, if you’re playing one of these characters in this lane, you’ll need a partner to help keep close-range enemies off you.

The middle lane is a chaotic place full of enemies, and it demands good map awareness and teamwork. Being in the middle of the map means you need to attend to anything happening immediately and often play around with other characters entering your space. You and your team need to work together to send the right characters away to deal with trouble and leave enough to handle anything else that comes up. This is a place for those who understand and enjoy controlling the game.

The top lane is for those who can handle themselves alone. Often you’ll find intense 1V1 battles raging in this section. Most of the champions that do well in this lane are the tanks and bruisers.

The jungle is the place where you can learn some awesome buffs for your team. You aren’t confined to one lane, but you need to know how to play the map well. This position allows you to focus on concrete objectives rather than fighting constantly.

Final Thoughts

There is no one way to be good at games like League of Legends. Ultimately it depends on how well you know your character and if you work well with your team.
