What’s Leaving Streaming in October 2026

October is bringing plenty of new movies and shows to streaming, but the monthly shuffle also means a long list of titles are about to disappear.

Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock and Paramount+ are all rotating movies out of their libraries throughout October 2026. Some of the bigger departures include Spider-Man: Homecoming, Gone Girl, The Evil Dead, Jurassic Park, Mean Girls, The Goonies, A Quiet Place and several films from The Twilight Saga.

Many of the biggest removals happen as October begins, meaning September 30 will be the final full day to watch a large number of them.

Netflix is losing a sizable collection of licensed movies as October begins, with several major titles scheduled to disappear on October 1. That makes September 30 the date to keep in mind if any of these have been sitting in your watchlist.

There are some particularly painful losses here for horror fans. The Witch and Krampus are both leaving right as Halloween season gets underway.

One of the more notable recent films on the list is The Substance. Coralie Fargeat’s body-horror hit became one of the genre’s biggest talking points after its 2024 debut, with Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley leading the film.

Additional October Hulu departures currently include The Boogeyman on October 5 and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial on October 6, with more dates likely to become clearer as October approaches.

Horror fans have several movies worth prioritizing. Sam Raimi’s original The Evil Dead, The Strangers, Barbarian and The Substance are all currently scheduled to disappear as October begins.

The timing is especially notable for The Evil Dead. GVN recently revisited the movie with its new 4K UHD SteelBook release, calling attention to the film that started one of horror’s most enduring franchises.

Movies Leaving Peacock in October 2026

Peacock is adding plenty of horror for Halloween, but it is also saying goodbye to an unusually strong collection of movies as October begins.

The most noticeable loss may be the Twilight Saga, but there are plenty of other recognizable titles leaving alongside it.

Peacock’s horror losses are especially interesting considering the timing. It Follows, Freaky, The Last Exorcism, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Signs, Split and The Sixth Sense are all leaving just as audiences start looking for Halloween movies.

The Menu is another strong option worth squeezing in before October. GVN previously called the Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy thriller a “terrifically devious satire” in our home entertainment review.

The Phantasm franchise also begins departing a few days later, with Phantasm, Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead, Phantasm IV: Oblivion and Phantasm: Ravager currently scheduled to leave October 5.

What About Prime Video?

Prime Video is a little more complicated because Amazon combines movies included with a standard Prime subscription, titles available through separate channel subscriptions and movies available to rent or purchase.

As of September 23, a comprehensive October list for movies leaving the base Prime Video subscription has not surfaced with the same level of confidence as the other major services. Rather than include titles that may simply be moving from “Included with Prime” to rental or channel availability, we will update this section as Amazon’s October expiration notices become clearer.

Watch Them Before They’re Gone

Streaming libraries are never permanent. Movies regularly bounce between Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock, Paramount+, Prime Video and other services as licensing agreements expire and studios negotiate new deals.

October’s departures are a particularly good example. Some major movies are leaving one service while similar titles — and occasionally the same movies — can appear somewhere else shortly afterward.

If you’ve been putting off Gone Girl, Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Evil Dead, Jurassic Park, The Sixth Sense, Mean Girls, A Quiet Place or any of the other movies above, now is probably a good time to move them toward the top of the watchlist.
