Lessons Learned From American Gods Marathon Plus Season 2 Sneak Peek

American Gods Geek Vibes Nation

While American Gods returns on March 10, 2019, STARZ hosted a season one binge-a-thon where all eight episodes aired and several actors from the show live-tweeted along with fans. It was a great prep for the second season and reminded us while we all love this series, based on Neil Gaiman’s novels. We learned little tidbits throughout the eight hours, such as a few tweets below, and the fact that Yetide Badaki is the biggest advocate for the cast and crew and that her character Bilquis seems to be…pregnant(?) Below are some tweets from the actors, plus a sneak peek at the end!

We learned from Omid Abtahi (Salim) that his scene where he is praying in a field was not actually done in a field:

In this next post, Mad Sweeney seems to be confronted by Sakina Jaffrey. I looked up what “gungnir” was and it is Odin’s mighty sword, so this could definitely be a clue for season two. Is Mad Sweeney going to have to go find Mr. Wednesday’s weapon? Or is it the sword that Vulcan made for Mr. Wednesday before the god of fire was killed?

Plus, we get down to the important stuff, like what is Technical Boy’s nickname?

Speaking of Technical Boy’s tumultuous relationship with Mr. World, here is a sneak peek for season two, which obviously showcases Mr. World and Technical Boy leaving House on the Rock after Ostara declared her loyalty to Odin and essentially took away the Spring. Crispin Glover looks intimidating as ever as Mr. World and I simply love the “big business” feel he radiates. Technical Boy delivers as always and in the clip, it’s apparent that though he represents the new gods and modern technology, he is still not granted a seat at the table as far as Mr. World is concerned. In the end of the clip, Technical Boy is tasked with one important mission: find Media. We know Gillian Anderson is not reprising her role as Media, but that Kahyum Kim will be debuting as New Media. Take a look below and let us anxiously await for March 10th!
