If you enjoy anything and everything 80s and 90s, you should take a moment to check it out! It’s the absolutely perfect hype for the upcoming solo movie in the DCU.
James Wan, known for horror movies such as the Saw franchise and the upcoming movie The Nun; will be directed to Jason Momoa led film. Originally, Wan was hesitant about taking on the task of directing Aquaman. In the latest issue of Total Film magazine, Wan admitted that the reason why he initially was hesitant about taking on this project, was because Aquaman wasn’t…well, let’s say the most popular of superheroes.
“Let’s face it, [Aquaman is] the superhero that everyone makes fun of. There was a bit of reservation at the start about whether or not I should pursue this character. But the more I thought about it, I always love being the underdog. Coming from the horror genre, you’re always the underdog. So I got used to that mentality.”
If you are familiar with Aquaman, you know this statement to be true. Aquaman has not always been the most popular of superheroes.
But, with Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, it looks like we’re stepping into a new era of Aquaman. Momoa has been Curry in previous movies such as Justice League and a cameo in Batman vs Superman, where it was clear how different his adaptation will be from anything else we’ve seen.
