Lightyear Entertainment will be releasing the indie comedy Randy and the Mob on Blu-Ray on April 7, 2026. After a meticulous restoration from the original film elements, the label brings the film to Blu-ray for the very first time in a special Collector’s Edition featuring over 60 minutes of bonus material.

Directed, co-written, and co-produced by Ray McKinnon (Rectify, Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy), who also starred and starring Walton Goggins (The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones, Justified) who also co-produced, the film features an ensemble cast including Lisa Blount (An Officer and a Gentleman), Tim DeKay (Bosch: Legacy, White Collar), Bill Nunn (Sirens, Spider Man 3), Paul Ben-Victor (Nobody Wants This, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and a memorable special appearance by Burt Reynolds.

Though Georgia is known as the “Peach State,” two of its most celebrated exports may well be actors Ray McKinnon and Walton Goggins. Friends since meeting on the 1990 NBC television film Murder in Mississippi, McKinnon and Goggins — along with McKinnon’s wife, the late Lisa Blount — forged one of independent cinema’s most distinctive creative partnerships. Their collaboration yielded two enduring cult favorites: the 2002 Academy Award®-winning short film The Accountant, and the 2007 “big-hearted screwball Southern comedy” Randy and the Mob.

In anticipation of this exciting release, GVN has been provided with an exclusive new clip from the label that has us more excited than ever for audiences to check this one out.  Check it out and then get the full details below!

Synopsis: Good ol’ boy Randy Pearson (McKinnon) is in deep trouble. The IRS is circling. Gangsters want their money. And the only people left in his corner are his long-suffering wife (Blount) and his estranged gay twin brother. Enter Tino Armani (Goggins), a mob fixer with impeccable fashion sense, gourmet Italian tastes, and a strangely prophetic worldview. What follows is a madcap Southern caper that blends redemption, farce, and spiritual reckoning in equal measure that had critics and audiences alike praising its offbeat charm.

Part shaggy-dog crime comedy, part meditation on forgiveness and grace, RANDY & THE MOB has grown into a cult favorite, especially among fans of McKinnon and Goggins’ later film and television work where their fascination with flawed, spiritually searching Southern characters would continue to flourish.

    BONUS MATERIALS

The Limited-Edition Collector’s Edition Blu-ray of RANDY & THE MOB features more than an hour of bonus programming including the Academy Award-winning short film THE ACCOUNTANT, and a 24-minute long “Making-of” featurette with cast & crew interviews.

Blu-ray cover of "Randy & The Mob" showing two men, one in a red polo and jeans with his arm around the other, who wears a suit and holds a bag and gun.
