The widely publicized Lindsay Clancy trial left many divided on the internet. The Massachusetts mom accused of killing her three children with exercise bands was on trial not to see whether or not she committed the crime, but if she was criminally responsible for the deaths of her children. The case brought up arguments against the pharmaceutical industry, raised awareness of postpartum depression/psychosis, and has completely delved deep into the conspiracy realm. Lindsay’s ex-husband, Patrick Clancy’s name was dragged through the mud, accused by some of not doing more for his wife and actually accused of being the killer by some, despite being on camera somewhere else at the time of the murders.
The trial was declared a mistrial after one holdout juror refused to declare Lindsay not guilty by reason of insanity. Since then, this juror’s own past has been dragged through the mud, and many other jurors have appeared on multiple different news outlets to express their disappointment that he did not rule with the rest of the jury.
Now, in a shocking turn of events, Lindsay’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, claims Lindsay didn’t kill her children despite having never denied the act in the previous trial. According to a Yahoo! report, Reddington has asked Judge William Sullivan for an acquittal, arguing there isn’t enough evidence proving she killed her children. Prosecutor Shanan Buckingham called the argument “laughable.”
The next hearing for the case is November 2nd of this year. Lindsay’s children were Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan.
