With details about what Marvel fans can hope to expect from the upcoming Disney streaming service being kept at a minimum, a new report from Variety is reporting that some favorite characters, such as Loki and Scarlet Witch, might be getting their own series on the service. Disney itself has not commented on these reports. According to Variety’s sources:

“Each series is expected to include six to eight episodes. Marvel Studios will produce the shows and Kevin Feige, the guru of all things [Marvel Cinematic Universe], is expected to take a hands-on role in their development.”

These new shows, if they come to fruition, would be in addition to the other shows Disney has commishioned, like the first live-action Star Wars series, which is being developed by Jon Favreau. Star Wars has been rumored to have a production budget estimated at $100 million. With the willingness to spend, it is not too far fetched for a Marvel series to necessitate a similar budget. However, a limited series, like the one’s described, might be a way to explore those characters who the Studio doesn’t want to devote an entire film on but would still draw an audience from those fans who want to see more.

When asking about how all these prospective new series on multiple platforms would work together, it is reported:

“Marvel TV Studios and Disney have been active with shows that include ABC’s Agents of SHIELD and Netflix’s Daredevil, but sources say those shows will stay under Marvel TV banner with these limited series set under Marvel Studios.”

If this rumor bares fruit, would the appearance of a series starring Tom Hiddleston’s Loki or Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch draw you in to Disney’s Streaming Service? Share your opinions with us at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
