Loki’s Motives In Avengers Caused By Mind Stone?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12380″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Maybe Loki isn’t the evil bastard we thought he was after all? … No he is still pretty evil at times but some new information ripped right from Marvel’s official website indicates that Loki’s actions in Avengers was purely caused by the influence the mind stone had on him. While Loki was scrambling the brains of Hawkeye, Erik Selvig, and countless agents of SHIELD using the mind stone, it in fact was hard at work scrambling his brain as well. We saw what power the mind stone had on people who were near it, Banner, Stark, Rogers all were influenced by it while studying the scepter, so it is very possible that Loki was as well. According to Loki’s biography page

“Arriving at the Sanctuary through a wormhole caused by the Bifrost, Loki met the Other, ruler of the ancient race of extraterrestrials the Chitauri, and Thanos. Offering the God of Mischief dominion over his brother’s favorite realm Earth, Thanos requested the Tesseract in return. Gifted with a Scepter that acted as a mind control device, Loki would be able to influence others. Unbeknownst to him, the Scepter was also influencing him, fueling his hatred over his brother Thor and the inhabitants of Earth.”

While the scepter indeed caused the hate and rage inside Loki to grow, I think his motives were purely his own for the most part. Loki always felt he was meant to rule and be King and he would never get that opportunity on Asgard. He knew how much Thor had grown to love the humans on Earth, especially Jane, so what better way to get revenge than to enslave Earth and becomes it new ruler.

I also believe that Thanos had a major hand in pushing Loki to take over Earth because Thanos would not want any one standing in his way when it came to “Balancing” the universe and he knew Earth is home to the Avengers, “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes”. How do you feel about this latest news? Do you think this justifed Loki’s actions? Drop us a comment below.
