When last we were together, the couples were snuggled in their comfortable cocoons along the beautiful shores of the Dominican Republic. No one could’ve guessed that when they all traveled back to Charlotte, NC, all hell would break loose.
The couples we thought were safe bets were everything but. As soon as the plane touched down, the honeymoon wore off. Brittany and Kenneth broke up and abruptly left the show after Kenneth’s actual true love came back to him – his cell phone.
Clay continuously warned AD that he could cheat while she smiled and planned their wedding. Jeramey stayed out late with Sarah-Ann, which led to an explosive argument with Laura. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s insecurity continues to cause a strain in her relationship with Jimmy, as Johnny and Amy continue to make fans question if they know what condoms are since the only forms of contraception that they’ve discussed are birth control and a vasectomy.
Episode 10 is where the delusions of grand love rose to new heights as forced couples tried to ignore the red flags glaring directly in their faces. Once again, Clay began his rendition of Taio Cruz’s “Break Your Heart,” straight up telling AD he might say no at the altar, and, of course, as beautiful as Olivia Pope – and as foolish – she accepts his words as if Clay is playing the long-game prank on her and she’s waiting for the punchline.
Not to be outdone, Chelsea made sure to have a full-on fit about Jimmy hanging out with his friends while she stayed home – completely ignoring the part where he invited her. Still, there was a glimpse of hope for at least one of the couples, once again in the form of Amy and Johnny. They’re happy, in love, and it seems – at least now – that they’re all in for each other.
Unlike Laura and Jeramey. In separate scenes for most of the episode, they were finally in the same orbit at a party with many pod couples and singles, including Sarah-Ann, who joins in episode 11! As if things couldn’t get messier, Trevor and Jessica are there too, and they finally get to have a sit-down with Chelsea and Jimmy.
With reality TV’s [current] favorite Quad, there were “what if’ moments, but ultimately, all parties gained closure. Just in time for a rousing argument between Laura and Jeramey, where their engagement ended! On top of that, AD confronted Sarah-Ann about going after a newly engaged Jeramey, and the two engaged in a more than slightly heated passive-aggressive argument that ultimately led to Jeramey and Sarah-Ann riding off into the sunset together – literally, they were on jet skis – leaving Laura behind in a puddle of tears and social media fuming!
Luckily, things calmed down a few days later, and the wedding dresses and tuxes were selected as the soon-to-be blushing brides and happy groomsmen prepared for their special day. We’re down to three engaged couples, and the only question now is, will they say, “I do,” or bail out of this chaotic zoo? Tune in on March 6th to find out. Time is winding down, and we can only hope these couples make the right decision, even if that means finally seeing the writing on the wall and saying NO. Romantic love might be blind. Let’s hope self-love isn’t.
Love Is Blind is now available to stream on Netflix.
